Commenting half way through this essay because wow!! You’ve put my feelings into words! The celebration of the act will never come from me because I understand that whiteness as a mindset doesn’t see the value other people’s lives. So while I think that Luigi did something to start a larger conversation I can’t get behind the public celebration for him. Black people are killed by the state for much less! Just unfathomable!

I ultimately agree with the main argument here, that individual actions don’t have the power to bring about revolution; only collective action can. However, I do think that individual actions can give way to collective action. I think the Luigi TikTok’s have raised consciousness for some that may or may not have been reachable in other ways

This line confused me though, because like…..he does tho. I don’t think the CEO was chosen at random. Whatever his individual politics (which I’ve seen various reports of, but don’t ultimately care to pursue) the politics of the action seem pretty loud and clear. Unless I’m misunderstanding you here
